Descripción
A pale, well-balanced, smooth German lager that is slightly stronger than the average beer with a moderate body and mild hop character.
Aroma
Moderate grainy-sweet Pilsner malt aroma. Low to moderate herbal or floral German hop aroma. Very clean lager fermentation. Slightly fuller than Munich Helles with a subtle additional malt richness.
Apariencia
Pale to medium gold, 4-7 SRM. Clear and brilliant. White head with good retention. Slightly fuller appearance than Munich Helles.
Sabor
Moderate Pilsner malt flavor with a clean, grainy-sweet character. Low to moderate German hop bitterness and flavor. Clean, dry finish. Slightly fuller than Munich Helles but similarly elegant.
Sensación en Boca
Medium body with moderate to high carbonation. Smooth and clean. Slightly fuller than Munich Helles.
Historia
A traditional Bavarian export lager style, stronger than Munich Helles but in the same pale, malt-focused tradition. Associated with the Dortmund style of export lager, though subtly different. Developed for export beyond Munich's borders where extra strength aided preservation. DAB, Dortmunder Union, and Einbecker Ur-Bock are historical references.
