Descripción General

Farmers of Wallonia once brewed this in winter for their workers to drink through the summer harvest, a farmhouse ale tradition shared with northern France. Refreshing and highly attenuated, it is hoppy and fairly bitter with a very dry finish, high carbonation, and fruity, spicy yeast character, at 5.0 to 7.0 percent alcohol with 20 to 35 IBU and a 5 to 14 SRM colour. Dupont's Saison Dupont, from the 1950s, became the template for the modern revival, which Michael Jackson's writing later carried to an international audience. Brasserie Fantôme Saison and Boulevard Tank 7 are further examples. BJCP files it as 25B.
