Description

A clear, bitter, aggressively hopped American IPA with a dry finish and prominent pine, resinous, and citrus hop character. The classic West Coast interpretation.

Arôme

Prominent to intense pine, resinous, citrus (grapefruit, lemon), and herbal hop aroma from classic West Coast varieties. Very low caramel malt. Clean, dry fermentation. Bold and assertive hop character.

Aspect

Pale gold to light amber, 4-8 SRM. Clear to brilliant. White to off-white head with moderate to good retention.

Saveur

Prominent pine, resinous, citrus, and herbal hop flavor. High to very high bitterness. Minimal malt character. Very dry, clean finish with lingering bitter aftertaste. Classic bold West Coast expression.

Texture en bouche

Medium-light to medium body with moderate to high carbonation. Dry and crisp. Firm bitterness without harshness. Clean finish.

Histoire

The original American IPA regional interpretation that defined craft IPA for decades. Born in California in the 1990s-2000s with Stone IPA, Green Flash, and Lagunitas IPA as defining brands. Characterized by clear appearance, aggressive bitterness, and classic pine/grapefruit West Coast hop character. Temporarily overshadowed by hazy IPA but now experiencing a strong revival.
