BU:GU Ratio
The ratio of bitterness units (IBU) to gravity units, used to estimate the balance between hop bitterness and malt sweetness. A BU:GU of 0.5 is considered balanced; values below indicate malt-forward character, values above indicate hop-forward bitterness. Useful for recipe formulation across styles.
