Barleywine

A strong ale (8-14% ABV) with intense malt sweetness, complex fruit esters, and significant alcohol warmth. English barleywine emphasizes toffee, dark fruit, and restrained hops; American barleywine features aggressive hop bitterness and citrus/pine character. Both benefit from extended aging.
