Three-Tier System
The U.S. alcohol distribution model established after Prohibition, requiring separation between producers (breweries), distributors (wholesalers), and retailers (bars, shops). Each tier operates independently, preventing vertical integration. Exceptions for self-distribution vary by state and are critical for small craft breweries.
