Tarihçe
An ancient Belgian beer tradition from the Flemish Brabant region, dating to the Middle Ages when unmalted wheat and various spices (gruit) flavored beer before hops became dominant. Nearly extinct by the mid-20th century, the style was revived by Pierre Celis in Hoegaarden in 1966. His white beer sparked a global wheat beer renaissance.
