Flavor Threshold
The minimum concentration of a compound at which it becomes detectable in beer. Flavor thresholds vary between individuals and are affected by the beer matrix. Diacetyl's threshold is approximately 10-15 ppb, while ethanol's is around 14,000 ppm. Understanding thresholds helps brewers target or avoid specific compounds.
