Geschichte

An ancient Flemish tradition from the Roeselare area of West Flanders, Belgium. Rodenbach brewery (founded 1821) perfected the style using large oak foeders for aging. The process blends fresh young beer with aged sour beer. Rodenbach Grand Cru is the defining example. Related to but distinct from the Oud Bruin tradition of East Flanders.
